Four of Bharti Airtel's units in Africa may soon be that of Orange, this is following an exclusive deal between the two companies.

According to a press statement by Orange, the company is in talks with Bharti Airtel for the possibiliby of acquiring the telecommunications company's subsidiaries in Burkina Faso, Chad, Republic of Congo and Sierra Leone.

"There is no certainty of any binding agreement as a result of these discussions."

Should the acquisition pull through, Bharti Airtel definitely loses a great deal in the share of telecommunications subscribers on the continent, but of course, money is coming into the company’s purse. And that would bring Orange operations on the continent to 23 countries and Airtel subsidiaries to 13.

And this is coming just a week after a friend was saying that it’s been long that the network had a change of name or got acquired.
