Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs and start-ups are critical to ensuring economic growth in a sustainable and inclusive manner. The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Telecom World 2016 is focused on enabling and accelerating these successes by bringing together new ideas, solutions, technology hubs, incubators and important stakeholders from public and private sectors on a uniquely inclusive international platform.

The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Telecoms World 2016 is an annual ICT event organised by ITU Telecom and will be held this year in Bangkok, Thailand from November 14th -- 17th, 2016.  ITU Telecom is a part of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU); the United Nations(UN) agency responsible for Information and Communication Technology(ICT)-related issues.

And the event is looking to bring the smartest ideas and entrepreneurial spirit of digital start-ups and ICT SMEs together with governments, regulators, industry leaders, consultants and experts. All from emerging and developed markets around the world.

Last year's edition saw Nigerian innovators participate in droves and was won by a Nigerian. Ogbonnaya Bassey came tops with SolarKobo.
