WIMBIZ impact investment competition set to equip 5 female-owned businesses

As part of its mission to be the catalyst that elevates the status and influence of women, WIMBIZ, (Women in Management, Business and Public Service) is organising its 15th annual conference. The annual conference is a WIMBIZ flagship event which holds November of every year and is attended by women from all over the world to discuss a broad range of issues.

The program is geared towards increasing the success rate of female entrepreneurs and the proportion of women in senior positions in corporate organisations.

The 2016 annual WIMBIZ impact investment competition will fund five female owned and managed startup in the recycling industry. The conference tagged Waste to Wealth, aims to empower women with recycling businesses, to ensure their success and sustainability.  At the competition, startups will state their goals, unique selling point, critical success factors of their businesses and how their ventures will impact the society.

Eligibility

  • The businesses must be female-owned.
  • Have clearly defined goals and objectives.
  • Should be sustainable and profitable.
  • The business should potentially impact the society.
  • The business must be in the startup phase and should not be more than 18 months old.
  • Must be in the recycling industry.
