News just reaching us confirms that, in spite of initial resistance put up by traders, armed policemen supervised the demolition of some shops in Computer Village, Ikeja earlier today, Wednesday.

According to Premium Times, about 18 shops in total were destroyed.

A witness confirmed to Techpoint that the demolition was restricted to only a particular block of shops.

You may remember that barely a week ago, the Lagos state government announced its decision to move the popular Computer Village from Ikeja to Katangowa. It is not yet clear whether or not the demolition in question is related to this decision.
