Founded by Ijezie Emmanuel, HITHOOD is an online classifieds marketplace where users post their goods, properties and services for end users or consumers to purchase. The users can also post and advertise their various businesses.
The service, which is currently available in Nigerian and Ghana, launched on the 1st of October 2016. Since then, the platform has hosted merchandise in mobile phones and accessories, vehicles/Machines, animals and pets, housing and real estate, art and hobbies, computers and other electronic gadgets.
How it works
HITHOOD displays items in various cities in both Nigeria and Ghana. Intending users have to choose their country before browsing the platform. Once that is done, the website automatically detects user's city/current location, through your browsing IP or geo-location, and as one would quickly find out while surfing through the site, the products and services are grouped in basic categories to optimise user experience.
While there is still room for many more players in the eCommerce space, most new entrants struggle to gain a considerable hold of the market due to the presence of the established players. Perhaps HITHOOD could just give them a run for their money.
