Fabricsphere Nigeria is an online service built to fast-track the needs of fabric shoppers. It allows them to source for local attires such as Aso Ebi, Ankara, Aso Oke, Wool, Lace, etc with ease. The Lekki-based fashion startup was launched by Venn Oputa in November  2016.

Fabricsphere doubles as an e-commerce platform -- where users can buy already listed local attires -- and an on-demand platform, that helps to obtain desired fabric samples.

Venn founded the online platform around an idea. For the average woman, searching needed local fabrics in the market is usually daunting. Especially when it comes to obtaining the preferred colour, type, or pattern. And if by chance, the desired fabric is found, affordability becomes another hurdle to surmount. All of these are time-consuming and effortful. Hence, the startup intends to provide a relief from this dilemma.

"The problem is usually the time and effort required to find it and get a good price off it." Venn told Techpoint, "So our product enables them to upload images of what they want and have it delivered within 2-5 working days".

Despite that players like Odeya.ng, Konga.com and Jumia.com.ng already exist in his niche, the founder remains optimistic. In fact, he attributes their unique selling point to the on-demand service. "The others offer an eCommerce service while we offer a direct sourcing service." he said.

Championing this course with Venn are Felix Ogbiede and Dotun Olowoyo.
