Like they say, a problem shared is a problem half-solved. Sometimes, you just need someone to talk, who’ll help little advice that’ll put you at ease.
These were the words of Olatunji Ogunkomaya, and apparently, they constitute what inspired him to found LagChat.
LagChat is an online discussion platform that offers therapeutic and counselling services to its users. Lagchat provides that solution via networking users with professional counsellors and therapists, as well as like minded people with similar experiences.
According to Olatunji, the platform adopts a technology that allows anonymity and securely connects people to share their day-to-day activities and issues in the various interest. This is made possible with different categories of chat-rooms the platform available for discussions and deliberations among users.
These chat-rooms range from career, religion, religion, marital to health, entertainment and other fascinating categories. As a result, anyone who wants to talk about whatever is on their mind can quickly reach their room(s) of interest, or even get connected to trained and compassionate listeners from the network.
The popular “nothing is new” mantra was confirmed when Olatunji mentioned similar players like Nairaland.com, BlahTherapy.com, and TalkSpace.com. Despite the existence of competition, the founder intends to revolutionise how therapy works in Nigeria. In fact, he highlighted showcasing the startup at the 2015 and 2016 editions of the Startup Istanbul event in Turkey as a step towards accomplishing his aim.
The online therapeutic platform will launch on August 26, 2017. Before then, you may visit the website to have a feel of what’s expected.
