Many businesses, especially those in developing economies, lack the basic infrastructure for their business discovery, customer acquisition, and retention. Stan Onyime founded Soshaa to tackle these problems by providing a page for every business.
From the cobbler in the street to the banker in a high rise, we provide a business-ready page where customers can enquire about, haggle on, and buy products or services on display.
Stan Onyime further positions Soshaa as the best alternative to social media business pages. “Social media giants like Facebook and Twitter provide pages for businesses but these pages are not tailored for specific business types and businesses can’t really close sales with them,” he said.
Knowing that internet connectivity is still a challenge in most African countries, Soshaa claims it’s mobile-optimised app has been developed to circumvent this barrier in the African market. A major feature Soshaa banks on is its Instant Messaging. This helps to keep customers in touch throughout the duration of a transaction since after-sales support is either lacking or too expensive in many less-developed countries. Currently, Soshaa is part of YCombinator Startup School, Founder’s Track.
