The growth and adoption of technology in Nigeria as we know it did not come overnight. Over the years, some individuals have worked tirelessly, breaking barriers and achieving what had been deemed impossible, too ambitious and utterly ridiculous.
From Funke Opeke, who had a vision of improving the low internet connectivity in Nigeria and achieved it by running a 7,000-kilometre undersea cable submarine from Portugal to Lagos, to Sim Shagaya, who is one of the pioneers of eCommerce in Nigeria, to Mitchell Elegbe, who founded Interswitch to revolutionise payments in Nigeria and the late Florence Seriki -- founder of Omatek Ventures, the first factory to locally assemble computers in Africa, among others.
The feats achieved by these individuals have inspired young men and women across Nigeria to strive towards building successful tech solutions, inspite of the Nigerian challenges. Some of these solutions have attracted foreign attention and in some cases, investments.
To celebrate these trail blazers, Nihinlola AyoOluwa, a digital artist, in partnership with Techpoint has put together an illustrated artbook titled Naija's Tech Revolutionaries.
