Aliko Dangote to speak at DEMO Africa's Global Tech Event

Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote will be sharing his entrepreneurial experiences to a global audience at the 2015 edition of DEMO Africa coming up September 21-25, 2015 at Eko Hotel & Suites, Lagos, Nigeria. Yemi Okeremi who is the chairman of the local organizing committee and CEO of Precise Financial System (PFS) confirmed Dangote’s attendance.

DEMO Africa which aims to connect African startups and showcase their products to the global ecosystem chose thirty technology-driven startups from a pool of 654 applications to pitch their products on a global stage.

Eight of those startups are from Nigeria, Kenya having 6 representatives and South Africa with three representatives. Other countries represented in the list are, Ghana, Egypt, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Tanzania and Ivory Coast

“Globally, the DEMO experience has helped to introduce new products and services that have become popular brands in the business and consumer markets, which include Evernote, Salesforce, Cisco WebEx, Jawbone, Waze, and Tivo among others,” says Harry Hare, DEMO Africa's executive producer.Other notable speakers at the event include; permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Communication and Technology, Dr Tunji Olaopa; Mobolaji Adeoye, managing director, Kuramo Capital; and director, Intel Capital, Tobi Oke; director-general (DG), NITDA, Peter Jack; founder, Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST), Jorn Lyseggen; CEO, African Technology Foundation, Stephen Ozoigbo, among others.
