Craftzone Creatives is an online educative initiative that utilises videos to deliver interactive crafts education in different categories.

With an in-house video team, Craftzone Creatives engages Afro-centric expert instructors within the art and craft industry to carry out the classes remotely, thereby allowing users access through mobile devices and PCs.

Each video is layered with 3D models and magnified graphics to explain critical techniques and methods.

Also attached to this service is an online store where craft tools are sold. Every course/training session is available for sale on the online store. In addition to video lessons, there is a range of downloadable step-by-step craft workshops, combining photographs and instructions.

Thoughts

At a glance, the Craftzone Creatives model may not essentially be unique considering its strength plays to the side of interactive videos sessions. On the bright side, the combination of craft-works, online training and store -- for self-empowerment -- does look catchy. But it remains to be seen whether or not the market is sustainable for the startup.

Perhaps, this explains why it launched a pilot product to test the market, choosing the cake decorating industry as the first category. Currently, the focus is extending to several other areas like the jewellery, ankara crafts, adire, and fashion industry.

Another good thing about the platform is that the sessions are of craftworks that promote the African culture and tradition. So, overall, it’s a good one for Craftzone Creatives.

Craftzone Creatives is a team of 5 co-founders comprising of Mayowa Adeoti (Founder), Daniel Adeoti, Niyi Moluga, Tope Adeniji and Stephen Oladeji.
