Among competitors like Naijabarfinder app, Ajoafrica app, lostinlagos.com, and others, Hotels and Perks intends to stand out by powering useful connections, especially with its inbuilt social chat feature which allows users to find, and interact with people that share similar interests/hobbies (like chess, reading, cooking).

To further drive conversation, the chat enables users to share upcoming events, pictures, restaurants, businesses with one another. The goal is to be the service that not only gives users a view of things around but also help with daily plans. While Valentine handles the business development responsibilities, his co-founder, Olabayo Onile-Ere focuses on the technical aspect of the business.

Although the startup is yet to launch officially -- possibly because of the Facebook FBStart (Bootstrap track) programme they are currently undergoing -- Valentine assures that more exciting features such as curated deals, information on jobs, weather etc., will accompany their official launch.
