LaundryBros is an on-demand laundry delivery startup that services busy professionals in Lagos.
The platform was launched on January 18, 2017, as a subsidiary of its parent company, DeliveryBros, an on-demand delivery service.
The founding trio behind LaundryBros are Adeboye Mayowa (Country manager), Nnaemeka Nweje (Head of business development/marketing) and Adora Nweje- (CEO Deliverybros Africa).
LaundryBros' services are mainly targeted at professionals and business owners because the team discovered a salient need peculiar to their target market. Due to their working-class nature, these people are either too busy to self-handle their laundry or to drop-off/pick-up their clothes at laundromats. And their geographical base does not help matters.
According to one of the team members:
"We handle the pick up of customers clothes within 60 minutes of request, drop them off at our partner laundromat for laundry and finally deliver back to the customer place all for a fee of ₦1000. Our entire laundry process stands at 3 to 4 hours, depending on quantity of item”
Despite recognising existing competitors like Washist and LaundryOga, LaundryBros boasts of three unmatched competitive advantages. Their parent company, DeliveryBros is an already established hyper-local delivery system that plays a key role in their quick (60-minute pickup/delivery) services.
Another is their quick laundry process which they claim takes about 3-4 hours. Finally, the laundromat partnerships that have afforded them the ability to charge customers by weight (0-10 kg of clothing item/₦1999), unlike competitors who charge per item.
