Tesla, Google Waymo and self driving car crashes

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched its fourth investigation into Tesla, after a fatal crash on Tuesday involving its Model S killed two teenagers. Fortune says the investigations are centered around the battery fire from the crash.

All these is happening at a time Wired says Tesla is facing an investor revolt.

Last week Friday, a self-driving vehicle operated by Waymo -- Google’s self driving car -- was also involved in a crash in Chandler, Arizona. The Verge reported the minivan had its side caved in and another vehicle involved had a smashed front end and minor injuries were reported at the scene. Waymo said the minivan was not at fault and the police confirmed it.

According to Insurance Journal, a Chandler Police Department spokesman confirmed the other car ran a red light before bashing the Waymo-owned Chrysler minivan.

Apple and Goldman Sachs

Giant technology company Apple is teaming up with banking and financial services group Goldman Sachs to release a new Apple Pay branded credit card. The credit card is expected early next year and will see the end of Apple’s partnership with Barclays.

Goldman Sachs had earlier acquired a credit card startup, but The Verge says for Apple, this move is a likely play to increase adoption of Apple Pay.

This makes sense as last week Wednesday, CNET reported an informed speculation that Apple Pay was coming to Norway, Poland and Ukraine very soon.
