UBA Leo was in Silicon Valley on Tuesday the 1st of May 2018 and shared the stage with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the Facebook F8 Conference.

Every year since 2007 -- with a few exceptions -- Facebook has hosted the Facebook F8 Developer's Conference. The conference is for developers and entrepreneurs who build products and services around the social media platform.

This year’s edition was held at the McEnery Convention Center in San José California. As usual, there were new announcements that included; a dating platform, Instagram video chat, Occulus VR headset and TV, VR memories, and other interesting innovations.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also wore a different shirt from the one we have become used to. But most importantly, UBA’s LEO shared the stage with the Facebook CEO during his address that stretched over an hour-long. You can find the video here.

When he reached a slider on Business and Bots, Zuckerberg said Facebook has seen good momentum for messenger business  with more than 300,000 business bots and 8 billion messages exchanged between them and users.

But out of the over 300,000 bots mentioned, Leo was the prime example used.

uba leoLaunched by the United Bank for Africa(UBA) in January this year, the UBA Leo ‘Chat Banker’. Leo is an artificial intelligence (AI) powered bot that performs banking transactions on Facebook.

Leo lets you open new accounts, receive instant transaction notifications, check their balances on the go, transfer funds and airtime top up. You can also confirm cheques, pay bills, apply for loans, freeze accounts, ask for mini statements, among other things and even check the weather.

Apart from being your perfect virtual banker, Leo also doubles as the perfect buddy and lifestyle application.

To experience the ease, simplicity, and excellence of a banker and friend, log on to the web or mobile versions of your Facebook Messenger,  type “UBA ChatBanking” into the search area of the messenger app and click on the icon; you can do anything from there.
