RSVP is a collaborative payment platform that lets people come together and transfer money in a trusted ecosystem for commerce and human capital investment.

RSVP recently launched COLLABO, an initiative to find exceptional people and projects, and offer them funding and mentorship.

COLLABO will give away one million naira within the next 2 months to winning projects in these categories- invention, social activism, art and commerce, all of which are judged on the theme of, “Good Causes”.

The qualification process requires that an individual or group of individuals start a good cause project on RSVP and tag the cause “#collabo”. The idea is to use RSVP to raise money from the public for the entered project, and the expiration date of the campaign is August 31. You can find the guidelines to creating a project on RSVP here.

Projects tagged #collabo are monitored and eventually those selected will be presented to the COLLABO Faculty. The Faculty then reviews and award match-funding to the winning projects, along with the funds raised.

According to Femi Ogunkolade, the company’s Founder and Chief Venture Architect, “We believe micro-contributions of time and money can have an order of magnitude effect in solving socio-economic problems. The kinds we see across Africa. Our mission through COLLABO is to identify a new wave of change agents. Exceptional people who will fan the flames of invention, social activism, art and commerce.”
A few weeks back, we wrote about a Covenant University alumnus that invented a 'Nepaless' gas-powered iron, he's currently crowdsourcing funds on RSVP to take his invention to the market.
